Playable demo

Try it right here.

Real spots, graded by the same rules as the app. Pick a drill, make your play and read the reason. It takes about twenty seconds.

All seven games No sign-up, nothing to install.

How it works

Every decision graded. Every grade explained.

Charts tell you what to do. Edgewise tells you whether what you just did was right, and why, then deals you more of the spots you get wrong.

  1. Make your play

Fold, call, raise or shove, at a table of bots or in a focused drill. Your first hand is about twenty seconds after you open the app.

  2. Get graded instantly

Preflop against solver-based charts. Postflop by expected value, played out to the river against the range that opponent actually holds.

  3. Learn the why

One plain-English reason, plus the solver’s frequencies when a spot is mixed. Then the trainer brings back the hands you missed.

Four grades, never just red or green

Each one carries an icon and a word as well as a colour.

  • Correct

    The play the strategy prefers.

  • Good: mixed spot

Solvers split between options here, so either counts as right.

  • Small mistake

A rare choice, or one that gives up a sliver of EV.

  • Mistake

A real leak. You see the better play, and why.

Inside the app

Six ways to train. Zero guesswork.

Each one targets a single skill, and every answer is graded the same way: instantly, with a reason.

Play against bots

Bots with personalities. A coach on every hand.

Sit at a 2–9 player table against the five kinds of player you meet in every card room. The coach grades each decision as you make it and walks you through the whole hand when it’s over. Not sure? Ask for a hint before you act.

Nit
Plays very few hands. When they bet big, believe them.
Solid Reg
Plays close to the charts. Your toughest opponent.
Aggro Reg
Opens wide and 3-bets light. Fights for pots.
Calling Station
Calls too much and rarely bluffs. Value-bet them relentlessly.
Maniac
Raises everything. Tighten up and let them bluff into you.

Hand review: every action in the hand listed, with the preflop open graded correct and the reason.
At the table, the coach suggests a raise with ace-eight suited and explains why, above the fold, call and raise buttons.

Preflop ranges

78 spots. Hardest hands first.

6-max, full ring and heads-up: opening, facing a raise, facing a 3-bet and limped pots. Solver-based ranges, simplified so a human can learn them, and mixed hands are never marked wrong.

The trainer deals from the edges of each range, where the real decisions are, and brings back the hands you keep missing.

  • 256-max spots
  • 50full ring
  • 3heads-up

Free: every 6-max opening range

Preflop trainer: big blind facing a button open with ace-jack offsuit. Solvers 3-bet half the time and call half the time, so the answer is graded correct as a mixed spot.

6-max · 100bb

AJo is a coin flip between 3-bet and call. Pick either and you’re right.

Pot odds & outs

Make the maths automatic.

Count your outs, price the call and decide against real equity. Lean on the rule of 2 and 4 until you no longer need it, then race the 60-second speed round.

Free: outs and pot-odds drills. Pro: call or fold and the speed round.

Call or fold drill: queen-five facing a bet with an open-ended straight draw. Graded correct: 11 outs, about 44% by the rule of 4.

Push/fold

Shove or fold, solved.

Nash shove and call ranges for every seat from 1 to 20 big blinds, with or without antes. Graded by EV, to a hundredth of a big blind.

Free: small blind vs big blind. Pro: every seat.

Push/fold trainer: big blind facing a cutoff shove at 9bb with five-four suited. Fold is better by 0.68bb than calling.

Lessons & glossary

29 lessons. 315 terms.

Short, interactive lessons from hand rankings and seat names to c-betting, board texture and ICM, each with a quick check at the end. Then look up anything from “under the gun” to “SPR”.

Free: every lesson and the full glossary.

Interactive lesson: tap each of the nine seats at a full-ring table to learn its name and role.

Progress

Find your leaks. Fix them in one tap.

Accuracy over time, a daily streak, and a leak finder that turns your repeat mistakes into a one-tap drill of that spot, weighted toward the hands you miss.

Free: progress, streaks and the leak finder. Pro: leak drills in every spot.

Progress screen: decisions graded, 30-day accuracy, a 14-day streak, daily accuracy bars and accuracy by trainer.

Accessibility & craft

Built for every player. And every screen.

Every card is read aloud, every grade carries a word and an icon as well as a colour, and every layout holds from iPhone SE to iPad.

  • VoiceOverCards, seats and grades all have spoken labels: “Ace of spades”, never “image”.
  • Dynamic TypeText scales to the largest accessibility sizes, and layouts reflow instead of truncating.
  • Colour-blind paletteSwaps red and green for orange and blue. Turns on by itself with Differentiate Without Colour.
  • Reduce MotionDeals, flips and big transitions become gentle fades.
  • Four-colour deckSpades black, hearts red, diamonds blue, clubs green, so you never misread a flush.
  • Every screeniPhone SE to iPad. On the foldable iPhone, the inner screen rotates like an iPad.

Flip the switch to see the same swap the app makes: raise and call turn orange and blue, right and wrong turn blue and orange. Suits keep their four colours.

FAQ

Questions, answered.

Is this real-money poker?

No. Edgewise is a training tool. Every hand is simulated against computer opponents: there’s no real-money gambling, no wagering, no prizes and no way to buy or win chips. It’s rated 18+ because it simulates gambling.

Do I need an account?

No. There’s no sign-up and no login. Your progress, streaks and settings are stored on your device.

What’s free, and what does Pro add?

Free forever: 6-max opening ranges, outs and pot-odds drills, small blind vs big blind push/fold, every lesson and game, the glossary and 10 table hands a day.

Pro adds every preflop spot and format, push/fold for every seat, unlimited table play and every expert drill. It’s $39.99 a year with a 1-week free trial, $7.99 a month, or $79.99 once.

How does the free trial work, and how do I cancel?

New subscribers to the yearly plan get one week free, and if you allow notifications, Edgewise reminds you 2 days before it ends. To cancel, open Settings on your iPhone or iPad, tap your name, then Subscriptions, and cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends. You won’t be charged. You can also get there from Manage subscription in the app’s settings.

Which devices does it run on?

iPhone and iPad with iOS or iPadOS 17 or later: from iPhone SE to the largest iPad, including the foldable iPhone. You can also play seven of the training games in your browser.

Is it GTO?

Where it counts, and it’s honest about where it isn’t. Preflop ranges are solver-based, simplified so a human can learn them; when a solver mixes between actions, each of those actions counts as right. Push/fold ranges are solved Nash equilibria from 1 to 20 big blinds.

At the table, postflop decisions are graded by expected value against the range each bot actually plays, played out to the river. That teaches you to beat the opponent in front of you, not to memorise a solver tree.

What data do you collect?

Very little. Edgewise sends anonymous usage stats, such as which screens and drills you open, under a random ID that is never linked to your name, email or Apple Account. Turn it off any time in Settings, under Data: Share anonymous usage data. Purchases are confirmed by our subscription service, RevenueCat, using an anonymous ID (Apple handles payment), and your practice history stays on your device.

The privacy policy has the details.

Can I try it without the app?

Yes. Seven games run right here in your browser, graded by the same rules as the app. Play them all. The app adds the bot table, the lessons, every preflop spot and your progress.

Your next hand is twenty seconds away.

Free to download. No account to create. Graded from your very first decision.
